The Architectural Historian/Historian for HDR will be responsible for architectural and historical research, field surveys, NRHP eligibility evaluations, report writing, forms completion, database development, photography and photo logs, NRHP nominations, other studies and duties as assigned.
Requirements Must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualifications Standards for History and/or Architectural History (Master’s in hand). Position is in Dallas office, but project work will be primarily in Texas and throughout the U.S. Must have experience with rural and/or Texas historic architecture preferred. Must have experience conducting field surveys preferably in rural context, National Register evaluations, 35mm and digital cameras, GPS units, and historical research. Experience with Section 106 and with Access databases preferred. Need to send resumes, samples of architectural descriptions, and writing samples. Must be willing to travel in periods of up to 1-2 weeks at a time (estimated approximately 33% travel over a year).
