Job Description

GCE is seeking an in-house Architectural Historian and/or Historic Preservationist, who meets the Sec. of the Interior’s Standards for Historic Preservation, to assist in, with the opportunity to quickly manage, our developing Section 106 reviews and regulatory compliance for various telecommunications clientele. The right candidate will be responsible for conducting research in Trenton at the NJ SHPO offices and online New York Historic Property research.

In addition, the historian, working with a NEPA Team, will conduct the appropriate field work for various sites located throughout NJ and NY (primarily northern NJ and NYC) and assist in the report generation. The Historian will make determinations as to the potential effects the proposed undertaking will have on historic properties, and if effects exist, offer solutions to mitigate these effects.

The right candidate will need to be highly organized (we deal with multiple projects at a time — numbers can reach in the hundreds), computer literate, possess a strong learning curve and be able to take direction and work independently.

Additionally, our clients will have the need for in-house regulatory compliance to ensure every site adhere to Client’s Regulatory Compliance policy and procedure, and should also be proficient in the client systems required to facilitate the client approval of a site. Compliance review would include: compliance review – NEPA/SHPO Checklist Compliance – 1A Survey – Regulatory Filings (FCC, FAA, TOWAIR, AM Cert.) – Phase I & II compliance

Salary or Pay Rate

$35,000 – 50,000 (DOE)
