BARN AGAIN! workshop

On Saturday, June 23, the BARN AGAIN! workshop offers practical solutions for maintaining, rehabilitating and adapting old barns for today’s needs. Based on the National Trust’s BARN AGAIN! program, the workshop covers the history and structural technology of barns and describes successful and creative reuses.

Experts discuss financial incentives for barn rehabilitation and businesses that operate in rehabilitated barns. Rehabilitation contractors offer know-how as well as sources for labor, and materials.

The workshop also includes an afternoon tour of historic barns in the National Register-listed Deer Creek Valley Rural Historic District.

The BARN AGAIN! workshop will be held at the farm of John & Mary Mears, 4686 W 300 N, five miles east of State Road 25 near Delphi. The workshop runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with registration opening at 8:00 a.m.

Cost: $45 per person includes lectures, lunch, an information packet, barn tour and membership in Indiana Landmarks. Registration for Indiana Landmarks members is $25 per person.
