“Where the Water Never Ends”

Call For Papers

The biannual New York State Canal Conference will be held this year from September 30 through October 2 in Oswego. The Planning Committee is soliciting proposals for papers and sessions from individuals with an interest or specialty in canals and inland waterways and/or their landside use, development, and economic revitalization. This year’s conference will focus on: Commercial Shipping, History/Education, Connecting the Erie Canalway to the World, and What’s New Along the Canal.

Please submit an abstract of the proposed presentation to:

Please indicate “Conference Presentation” in the subject line.

Abstracts should not exceed 500 words.
Deadline for submission is April 16, 2012.

Members of the Conference Planning Committee will review the submissions on a rolling basis, and reserve the right to reject any and all proposals without bias. Speakers may propose a single presentation or a full session or a panel discussion. Papers are typically limited to 25 minutes and no session will be longer than 90 minutes.
