Golden History Museums is seeking a responsible individual to lead our Past Pursuits summer program. The Past Pursuits Demonstrator works under the supervision of the Education Manager. Past Pursuits runs every week through August 28th. The demonstrator interprets Golden regional history in a fun and educational manner. The job consists of supervising volunteers and leading a variety of programming, including tours of Clear Creek History Park.
The Clear Creek History Park is home to two cabins, an original one-room schoolhouse, gardens, and chickens. Candidates must know how to provide excellent customer service. Individual will work with the public on a daily basis and provide an interactive experience for visitors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Handle all visitor services at Clear Creek History Park, including set-up and take-down duties, soliciting donations, and visitor orientation. Candidates need to be responsible, self-motivated and able to problem-solve with little supervision.
Qualifications: Requires good customer service and the willingness and ability to learn a variety of subjects while working outdoors in extreme heat. A working knowledge of Colorado history is a plus. Ages 18 and up. Upon selection, the final candidate will be drug tested and given a background check.
Working conditions: Applicants need to be able to lift 20 pounds as well as walk a mile while occasionally wearing historic costume.
Experience: Some cash-handling, minimum 1 year working with the public in a museum setting.
