The Fort Bend County Museum seeks a Education Coordinator.
Job Description
Develop and implement educational programs and services aimed at all museum-going audiences, with a particular focus on school visitation. Serve as senior representative of the museum to audiences and organizations interested in educational and historical services.Recruit, train and retain volunteers to deliver public education programs. Create and maintain booking calendar and database to track and ensure implementation of programs.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Museum Studies, History or related field; teaching certification and classroom experience preferred. Five to seven years relevant museum or education experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience working with volunteers. Computer software skills (Microsoft Office).
Salary or Pay Rate
$23,000/year. Compensation: 32 hour per week paid at $8 – $12 per hour range OR salaried up to $23,000/year with some benefits. An additional 8 hours per week may be available working with curatorial staff in collections management (and this is included in the salaried amount).
