The New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston, Massachusetts seeks a part-time Marketing Assistant. The marketing assistant will work closely with the marketing director to help with the development and implementation of various marketing programs and projects. Duties include but are not limited to helping to write and disseminate press materials such as general news items, calendar listings, Web content updates, story ideas, and other press-related activities. Will also assist with advertising campaign management and other general administrative tasks.
Additional Qualifications:
- Help create and maintain contact information for local press and media
- Help distribute institutional marketing and programs information to press contacts and genealogical community
- Help compile and write marketing materials, including press kit components, flyers, signs, brochures, newsletter items, and other marketing materials
- Assist with various promotions planning and execution
- Assist with internal communications projects
- Assist with national advertising planning and management
- Perform other marketing duties as assigned
Education level for the position:
- College degree preferred; marketing / communications experience a plus
Skill required for the position:
- Computer skills
- Writing and editing skills
- Good organizational skills
- General marketing knowledge and principals
