Preservation Architect, Superstructures, NYC;

Plan and design projects focused on the preservation and restoration of historical structures, such as private residences, office buildings, theaters, and other structural property using in-depth knowledge of construction techniques belonging to different historical eras. Consult with clients to determine requirements of structures. Prepare scale drawings. Plan layouts of projects using advanced skill with AutoCAD design software. Prepare information regarding design, structural specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and estimated construction time for each project. Integrate engineering elements into unified architectural designs. Coordinate projects with various governmental and private agencies that oversee landmarks. Prepare contract documents for building contractors. Conduct periodic on-site observations of work during construction to monitor compliance with construction documents. Provide construction administration services including review of shop drawings, processing contractors’ payment requisitions.


Master’s Degree in Architecture plus one (1) year of experience; or Master’s Degree in Historic Preservation plus one (1) year of experience; or any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.

Salary or Pay Rate

35 hours a week, Salary: $33.08 per hour
