Northwood Restoration, a historic window restoration company in Western New York, is looking for a full time or part-time employee to restore windows to historic homes and buildings.Excellent position for person with passion for hands-on preserving of historic architecture and saving one of the most important architectural features of historic buildings and homes.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include all facets of restoring historic wood windows, doors and millwork including painting, glazing, paint removal, glazing, wood repair, weatherization, installation and removal. Replication of wood windows/doors and components depending on skill level.

Qualifications

Candidate must be detailed oriented. Woodworking/carpentry knowledge/skills a plus. Position involves painting, glazing, paint removal, glazing, wood repair, weatherization, installation and removal. Experience helpful but willing to train the right person.

We are a small company specializing in the restoration carpentry to wood windows, doors and millwork on traditional and historic homes and buildings by combining traditional woodworking techniques with a passion for preserving historic architecture. It is our mission to preserve the architecture of old and historic buildings by saving their period defining wood features. Since the wood features are often one of the most defining characteristics of a building, it is our belief that saving this historic fabric is of the utmost importance for not only retaining the original architecture but also as a means to preserve craftsmanship and the environment. This is the reason we are true restorers as our focus is always on preserving and restoring before removing and replacing.
